Vampire Diaries Star Michael Trevino Reveals His “Grueling” Favorite Moment

It’s a major accomplishment for The Vampire Diaries to make it to 100 episodes. It is perhaps an equally impressive feat to play a TVD character who has survived this long on a show that has practically made television character death an artform. What did Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood) have to tell E! Online about making it to the big 1-0-0?

Is Michael surprised that werewolf-turned-hybrid Tyler made it this far? "Yes, absolutely. 100 percent," Michael admitted. "I'm not offended by that [question] at all. That's another reason I'm happy we're making 100 episodes. I figured Tyler, especially during Season 1, I didn't know where he was going."

We have to admit: we didn’t have very high hopes for Tyler’s character either when the show premiered. But the character continues to surprise us and make us feel in unexpected ways — most recently in his turn to the dark side to seek vengeance against Klaus on The Originals.

But making it this far hasn’t been without its demanding moments — which is why Michael probably described his favorite TVD moment as “grueling.” What did Michael call his most memorable scene?: "It's always going to be the first werewolf transformation for me because that was tough. It was hard. It was two days of filming, it was grueling and it was long," he said. "For me, personally as an actor, it was a lot to go through. I'm proud of that and it started the new transition of Tyler from werewolf to hybrid to being the Alpha male to being sired to Klaus."

We’re proud of Michael — and the rest of the TVD cast — too! Congratulations on making it this far. Let’s just hope they all survive the 100th episode and its twist ending.
