Mike Fleiss: For Bachelor Pad to Come Back, It Needs…

Dear Bachelor Pad. It’s getting hot in hurr, and we want our favorite Bachelor and Bachelorette alumni to take off all their clothes and do things in hot tubs they wouldn’t want their grandparents to see. Seriously, folks. Even the pure among you must have it in your hearts to allow us this one simple, guilty (no guilt here) pleasure. And even Mike Fleiss is on board with the thought that Bachelor Pad should come back. Just, um, not this year.

Fleiss of Life talked to Entertainment Weekly about ‘The Pad’ and it seems that we’re not the only ones who want it back. But he made no secret of a major reason that it isn’t blinding us with science (petri dishes, ya heard) this summer.

“I love Bachelor Pad, but I thought maybe it’d be good to give it a break for a little while,” he told the EW podcast. And fear not, fans, cuz if he has anything to say about it, we’ll see it in 2014. “I have a good feeling it will be back next summer.”

While we may have a bevy of boy beauties to distract us on The Bachelorette right now, don’t turn up your nose at the duds and studs just yet. In fact, it may be time to embrace some of the fellas you’ve been hating on so far. Why? Well, it turns out one of the major reasons Bachelor Pad isn’t happening this year isn’t production’s fault — it’s their alumni’s lack of sparkle!

“I really wanted to give it a break because I didn’t think we had enough superstars to populate ‘The Pad,'” he explains of the reasoning behind their hiatus.

We’ve heard that the death sentence came from ABC, so his reasoning may not be entirely true. But just in case it is, you’d better get out your favorite fountain pen and start writing apologies to Tierra LiCausi and Brian Jarosinski...
