It's been a rough legal year for Justin Bieber, but maybe his most high-profile run-in with the law was his January 23 arrest for DUI following some alleged drag racing. But it takes at least two people to race — so who was his opponent?

The Biebs's pal Khalil, an R&B singer, was also arrested at the scene after he allegedly raced against Justin, driving a red Ferrari. As far as we know, he was the only potential opponent.

So how are those dudes and their legal woes doing, anyway? We're not sure about Khalil, but Justin's trial was delayed until July 7, thanks to a decision in late April.

Where Did George Clooney Meet Amal Alamuddin?

There are a few reports of how chronic-bachelor George Clooney met his fiancee, Amal Alamuddin. The Mirror reports that the pair met at a charity event, while New York Daily News says they met "while working together on a human rights project related to Syria." We think it's safe to speculate that the pair met over their mutual interests — George founded his own human rights organization Not On Our Watch, which fought against genocide in Darfur and organized the Hope for Haiti Now telethon. Amal, meanwhile, is a highly-regarded human rights lawyer.

We know what you actually want: How did George woo Amal? The Mirror's report cites someone claiming to be a friend of the couple, who says that George emailed her persistently until he got her number. “I think the reported hottest man in the world should meet with the hottest human rights lawyer in the world," said George's first alleged message to Amal.

"In the end he managed to get her email address and began sending her a series of flirty messages. He was very up front and joked about the fact they were both considered the hottest people in their respected professions," dished the source. "Amal found it funny, but she still made him wait a few days before replying."

How Did Miley Cyrus's Dog Floyd Die?

Miley Cyrus got some heartbreaking news from home while on the American leg of her Bangerz tour: Her adorable Alaskan Klee Kai dog, Floyd, had died. For her next few concerts, Miley did various tributes to her dearly departed canine friend: perform his favorite song (Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide"); sing to a giant, inflatable likeness of the dog; and give heartfelt speeches to the crowd. But what was the cause of death?

We haven't gotten actual confirmation from Miley herself on this — which is no wonder, since the subject is so painful for her — but a backup dancer on her Bangerz tour let the supposed cause of death slip. In a comment on an Instagram photo she posted from backstage, she answered a fan inquiry with, "Her dog was killed by a coyote." Too sad!

Sadly, assuming that is how Floyd died, Miley's not alone in losing a pet to a coyote attack. According to Southern California Public Radio, there are an estimated half a million coyotes living in California, and accessibility to pets is one of the reasons coyotes like living near humans. Even though Miley lives in the Los Angeles area, coyotes are on the rise in urban communities.

Miley, from what looks like no fault of her own, has had some pretty terrible luck with dogs. Her dog Lila died in December 2012 after some roughhousing with her bulldog, Ziggy. Ziggy was given to a family friend so he could live in a house with no other dogs, but seriously, losing two (really, three) dogs in less than two years has gotta be rough.
