Miley Cyrus Hate By State: N.H. Most Disgusted About VMAs Twerking?

The Granite State's motto is "Live Free or Die," but that doesn't mean New Hampshire residents like Miley Cyrus choosing to exercise her freedom with tongue-lash twerking.

The FCC got 158 letters of complaint about Miley and Robin Thicke's 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance. Speaking of too much time on your hands … Business Insider took a look at the letters and pulled out city, state and zip code data, then actually created a map to note the location of all the people mad enough to send strongly worded letters to the FCC.

You can check out the map here.

Based on the data, here's the list of the 10 most anti-Miley-twerking states:

1. New Hampshire

2. Tennessee

3. Alabama

4. South Dakota

5. Connecticut

6. Utah

7. Rhode Island

8. Kentucky

9. Maryland

10. North Carolina

Miley is originally from Nashville, so maybe they were just embarrassed to be associated with her. New Hampshire may have had the most complaints just 'cause N.H. residents are used to speaking up and being involved — from the primaries to town hall meetings. It doesn't mean everyone in N.H. was shocked and appalled and said something, but they're not the just sit there and complain to the TV types.

It's also interesting to look at the map for states that had no complaints. N.H.'s neighbors, Maine and Vermont, didn't feel the need to complain. (Maybe they were avoiding the VMAs completely.) People in Delaware, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, Alaska, Hawaii, and Wisconsin also could not care less. Every other state appears to have had at least one resident angry enough to contact the FCC over Miley, her tongue, her foam finger, and pimp daddy Robin.

Are you glad these people spoke out (or wrote out) against “smut” on TV? Have you ever in your life sent a letter to the FCC? What would it take for you to do it?
