Amid all the hullabaloo that arose after Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke’s 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance, one person kept her opinions to herself: Paula Patton, aka Robin Thicke’s wife of eight years.
The two, who have known each other since childhood, and started dating as teens. They were married on June 2005 and welcomed son Julian Fuego in April 2010. So though the couple have what seemed like a rare solid Hollywood relationship, Robin’s twerked out performance with the, um, flexible 20-year-old Miley raised concern that Robin and Paula’s relationship was down for the count.
"I wasn't surprised at all honestly,” Paula said during an interview on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “They rehearsed for three days beforehand. I don't know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your…All my friends do it like that."
“I don’t know what the big deal is,” she continued. “If they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys? The song is about taking [the club drug] Molly. I don't understand. I didn’t get the big deal.”
The frank response prompted Watch What Happens host Andy to confess his love for Paula. We have no idea if the feeling was mutual seeing as photos of Paula later grabbing Andy’s butt have yet to surface.
