Whether Miley Cyrus is in a latex bodysuit or fully clothed in a gold Marc Jacobs dress, she’s bound to be criticized. And this time, it’s all about her less than stellar performance of her single, “Wrecking Ball” on X-Factor UK.

Naked at a construction site Miley was not, but her performance was a bit shaky compared to what we’ve seen from her lately. After giving fair warning via Twitter that she was “sicky” and on “vocal rest,” Miley gave the best performance she could, considering the circumstances.

The performance was, dare we say, dull — at least by Miley standards — but that could be less because she was sick and more because of the severe consequences the show put in place for her ahead of time to prevent any nude teddy bears or illegal substances from appearing. According to Hollywood Life, X-Factor threatened to “cut the cameras and mute her singing” should she try to pull anything unsavory.

And sans her usual performance accoutrements, Miley sang among a backdrop of what looked like a mountain, her voice cracking a few times due to her illness. At times during her performance, it sounded almost painful for her to be singing. Poor Miley!

“Happy to get some rest. Time to go be sicky,” Miley tweeted after her appearance.

And after she heard the not-so-rave reviews of the performance? “Damned if you do, damned if you don’t,” read another tweet.

We hope she feels better soon. Get well soon, Miley!
