Miley Cyrus may not have taken up 17-year-old Phoenix resident Matt Peterson on his, um, unconventional invitation to his high school prom, but that doesn't mean she rejected him!

In case you missed the viral video, Matt begins by recounting his encounters with the pop star so far — the time he broke down in tears when he met her on a radio show in 2009, and the time she recognized him and called him out at a concert six months later.

Then, in true Miley fashion, he strips buck-naked (covering himself with a foam finger) to pop the question.

He elaborates on his proposal in the video's descriptions: "Miley, I have been a fan of yours from the beginning. You've changed my life, and I want to repay you by giving you the best night of your life. In order to do that, allow me to take you to my prom on May 3, 2014. I promise you, we will have a great time… and after our first encounter, I won't cry on your dress. I hope you will tell me yes when I'm sitting with roses in the sixth row at your Bangerz tour in Phoenix on February 27!"

Trouble is, the 21-year-old singer is supposed to perform in Amsterdam that night. So instead, Miley proposed an alterna-prom: "Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom," she tweeted on February 8. "But why don't you come to my [Arizona] show and hang with me? Don't forget a corsage."

Sounds like romance is in the air! Well, on Matt's side, at least.
