Meet ‘Miracle Milly,’ the World’s Shortest — and Possibly Cutest — Dog
At a mere 3.8 inches high, Milly is, if not the smallest pup in the world, definitely the shortest.
Milly is a brown chihuahua who lives in Puerto Rico and weighs about one pound. According to her owner, Vanesa Semler, who also has nine other chihuahuas, when Milly was born, she weighed only 8 ounces and could fit into a teaspoon.
This dedicated dog mom fed the puppy every few hours from an eyedropper, since her teeny, tiny mouth couldn’t open enough on its own. Now the grown up doggie eats nothing but human-cooked food, four times a day.
The wee furball was voted by the Guinness Book of World Records as the shortest dog, but there’s actually a different measurement for length, and that record is held by another chihuahua in Florida.
As if Milly wasn’t already cute enough, the petite pooch likes to stick out her tiny tongue when she’s photographed, to amp up the cute factor even higher. According to Vanesa, “She knows how to pose.”
Yeah she does! The wee fur baby also sleeps in a baby’s crib. Now that’s one pampered pup! “She does not understand that she is a dog,” said Vanesa, “She thinks she’s a kid.” We can’t imagine why!
