Bet you didn’t know… The Voice mentors and judges Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson and Cee Lo Green were all present and Miranda and Blake’s wedding
After numerous contestants sang her songs hoping to catch then fiancé Blake Shelton’s attention, Miranda decided to take a role on the show herself. The country singer should be a big help to this season’s contestants as she got her start in 2003 as a finalist in the music competition Nashville Star.
The performer has produced three albums all of which have songs on the Top 40, 20, and 10 charts. The song “Gunpower & Lead” was Miranda’s first single to make it to the Top 10 and Season 1 Voice contestant, Cherie Oakley, also sang it for her blind audition.
Miranda has been nominated for and won numerous awards from the Country Music Association — including “Top Female Vocalist of the Year” three times —, the CMT Music Awards, and the Grammy Awards. Her most recent Grammy is for “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” for her song “The House that Built Me.”
She has toured with top country artists including Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Sugarland, and Brad Paisley.
Miranda and Blake started dating in 2006 when she sang backup vocals for Blake’s country cover of Michael Bublé’s song “Home.” The couple married at the Don Strange Ranch in Texas and when they aren’t taping The Voice, resides in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
