The Voice Mentor Miranda Lambert Made her Acting Debut on What Series?
Country music fans already know that Miranda Lambert has some amazing vocal chops, but did you know that she’s also made a foray into the acting world? The Pistol Annies singer and mentor on The Voice made her dramatic debut in 2012 on the popular NBC crime drama Law and Order: SVU.
However, is seems that many fans on Viggle LIVE! must have missed Miranda’s turn as an actress turned rape victim during the show’s thirteenth season. Only 18 percent of users correctly identified SVU, while nearly 52 percent thought the “Hell on Heels” singer must have guest-starred on ABC’s Nashville. That is definitely an educated guess, given Miranda’s connection to the country music capital of the world. The remaining 30 percent guessed The CW’s southern comedy-drama Hart of Dixie.

Rather than play to type, Miranda’s first acting job was difficult, not just because of the subject matter, but also because she felt the character’s personality was so different from her own. "I had to really pull from my gut on this whole role I was playing because I'm a very strong, confident person," the country star told TV Guide, whereas the role called for "a more subdued, naïve character" than herself.
While Miranda did a fantastic job on SVU, we don’t expect to see her making a transition from music to acting any time soon. “I don’t want to be an actress, she told CMT News, explaining that her interest in being on the show stems from being such a huge fan. “I just wanted to be on that show mainly so I could be a groupie.”
