The entire concept of VH1’s reality hit Mob Wives: New Blood hinges on the fact that the women on the show are “connected” — though not in the way that comes from being really good at networking. As the name indicates, Big Ang, Renee Graziano, Alicia DiMichele and the rest of the girls are open about the fact that they grew up in “the life” (re: the mob), both in Philly and in Staten Island.
This should all be old news for fans of the show, as this is the fourth season after all. However, even long-time viewers might not know about the other way that one of the show’s stars is connected. In fact, one Mob Wife has a political connection, and this one’s a doozy: Her husband is a cousin of former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani.
So which of the NYC-area gals can call the Mayor family: Drita D’Avanzo, Big Ang or Renee Graziano?
Wetpaint asked Viggle LIVE! users that very question during last night’s (January 17) episode of Mob Wives: New Blood, and though it was a tight race, almost half of voters were right on point!
Over 46 percent of users know their stuff, guessing correctly that Drita D’Avanzo was the politically hooked-up cast member. Not far behind, however, were the 32 percent of voters that thought Big Ang was Rudy’s relative (imagine those family reunions!). And 22 percent believed that Renee was the woman in question.
Drita’s husband, Lee D’Avanzo, is the son of Lewis D’Avanzo, a first cousin of Rudy Giuliani. Lewis even attended Rudy’s first wedding, before the two had a falling out over Lewis’s legal issues. Though they probably don’t keep in touch, this still makes Drita a cousin of Rudy’s, through marriage.
Tune into all of the drama on Mob Wives: New Blood on Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET on VH1.
