Nick Loeb, boyfriend to Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara, plans to run for the U.S. Senate in Florida. And according to a recent article in Star, Vergara isn't too supportive of Loeb’s political aspirations ...
The article stated, “Sofia isn’t keen on playing the role of dutiful senator’s girlfriend … She doesn’t want to have to take what his constituents might think into consideration when she goes after parts.” Additionally, the publication reported that Vergara is “reluctant to move to Florida if Nick wins,” and the two were having “blow ups” over his potential run.
However, it appears the hoopla surrounding Loeb’s run is all false. An undisclosed source, who is well-acquainted with Vergara and Loeb, cleared the air and said, “Sofia supports Nick and any decision he chooses to make regarding his career. As of now, a decision hasn’t been made and the couple is not focusing on this. They are enjoying their summer and Sofia is excited to be back to work on Modern Family.”
Sofia confirmed with People Magazine that she is, in fact, supportive of Loeb’s decision.
"If he decides to do it, I think he will be amazing. My boyfriend is very inclined to politics and that's his passion," she said. In fact, she plans to help with his campaign, whether it’s handing out pamphlets or sporting "Loeb for Senate" signs. "I support him with everything. If that's what he wants to do in his life, I will be there for him.”
And if Loeb should win the race, how does Sofia feel about playing the role of politician’s girlfriend? "I would just be my funny self, but that's far away!"
