Finally, Modern Family is back! Was Season 3, Episode 11: “Lifetime Supply” all you hoped it would be? Read on for the Wetpaint Entertainment review and rate the episode yourself!
This Wednesday’s episode followed eternally-confused Phil (Ty Burrell) as he said his “goodbyes” to his loved ones after missing a call for his test results. (On a lighter note, was anyone pleasantly surprised by Phil’s appropriately toned pecs when he appeared shirtless in the beginning of the episode?) Meanwhile, hunky but troublesome daddy Javier (Benjamin Bratt) makes a return to give Manny (Rico Rodriguez) the belated and completely inappropriate birthday gift of a day at the racetrack and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) takes things too far, again.
Also in this episode: Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) was a vision in plum velvet when he sauntered onto the screen wearing a luxurious blazer in the opening and Phil gave us a peek at what he looked like with longer, floppier hair during his razor blade-winning game show contestant days.
The episode was a refreshing start to the second half of Season 3 for the series. Seeing Javier interact with the family was hilarious (especially Cam’s adorable leers) and he adds some interesting subtle family drama to the normally cheerful show. While we love Mitchell’s ridiculous reactions to just about everything, his constant sub-plots about him dealing with his own neurotic quirks are starting to get a little repetitive. However, the extra treat of a young(-ish) Phil on the Smarty Pants game show was great.
