Bet you didn’t know... Fizbo is not a product of the Modern Family writers’ brilliant minds; Eric created the clown character when he was 11.

Much like his Modern Family character Cameron, Eric Stonestreet grew up in rural Kansas City raising pigs. He studied to be a prison administrator at Kansas State University, but his dreams for the future changed dramatically when a friend dared him to audition for a tiny part in the play Prelude to a Kiss — and he landed the role. After earning a degree in Sociology, Eric moved to Chicago to study improv and acting.

Once in L.A., Eric began booking a string of guest spots on popular TV shows including Dharma & Greg, Malcom in the Middle, Party of Five, Spin City, ER, The West Wing, American Dad, Providence, Close to Home, Crossing Jordan, CSI, 13 Graves, The Mentalist, NCIS, Nip/Tuck, Pushing Daisies, and Bones. He’s also appeared on the big screen in Almost Famous and Girls Will Be Girls.

Eric plays Cameron Tucker to a tee on Modern Family (he has a 2010 supporting actor Emmy to prove it!), but the actor is straight in real life. His co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell) likes to joke that Eric is “gay for pay.”

Off the Modern Family set, Eric “enjoys playing the drums, taking pictures, driving places, and watering things.”
