Molly Sims: My Thyroid Condition Made Losing Baby Weight “Hard Work”

Losing baby weight is a tall order for any new mom, but model Molly Sims had it worse than others because of a thyroid condition.

The 40-year-old four-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model welcomed her first child with husband Scott Stuber in June 2012 — a boy named Brooks Alan. (She and Scott, a film producer, married in September 2011.)

Now, almost two years later, Molly seems to have her pre-baby body back, and she's dishing to People about the struggle of losing the 65 pounds she put on while pregnant.

"It's been 19 months!" she says. "It was hard work. It was hard work for almost 13, 14 months because of my thyroid issue, but once I knew what it was I got it under control."

Getting it under control meant a new regimen of medicine, diet, and exercise — but not too much exercise.

"I know this is going to sound weird, but I'm actually exercising a little bit less, and watching what I eat a little bit more," she reveals. "I find that sometimes I can over-exercise, where it actually makes me hungrier, to the point where I'm starving! So, I've been trying to cut back."

Well, whatever she's doing is working! Job well done, girl.
