Mom and Her 4-Year-Old Create Gowns Out of Paper — You Have to See This! (PHOTO)
Maybe you fancy yourself a bit of a crafty, DIY type of mom. A veritable Martha Stewart who pulls rainy day projects like rainbow loom chandeliers for the kiddos out of thin air. Well, one designing mama and her young daughter may be giving you a run for their money, because their flair for creating jaw-dropping gowns out of paper is DIY fashion design to die for.
Angie’s a California mom who first shared the paper gowns via her Instagram account, @2sisters_angie. The designs are modeled by her daughter, who she refers to as “Mayhem” (we bet there’s a few stories about that nickname). Angie says that Mayhem not only models the dresses, she created most of the designs, and she helps her mom construct the frocks.
The dresses started out being quite rudimentary, but over time, they’ve gotten more and more complex, culminating in this yellow show-stopper (at left) worthy of it’s own Oscar acceptance speech. Mayhem’s mom says this dress was actually inspired by Taylor Swift.
Angie told the Huffington Post that her daughter gets inspiration from books, shows, movies, and wherever the family travels. A recent Minnie Mouse get-up was clearly inspired by a trip to Disneyland. Hollywood starlets are also good fodder. Mayhem is seriously pulling off J.Law’s white Christian Dior look here.
Bring on the paper fashion! We can’t wait to see what these crafty, creative ladies come up with next...
