Which Grey’s Anatomy Moment Does Shonda Rhimes Keep Framed on Her Desk?

Over the past decade, there have been a lot of Grey’s Anatomy moments we’ve found inspirational. Like the infamous Meredith and Derek Post It note promises. And when Arizona sticks up for herself the first time she meets Callie’s conservative dad. And, you know, any and all scenes where Jackson Avery goes shirtless are inspirational as heck to us.

But for creator Shonda Rhimes, a different scene serves as a good daily reminder to her: when Cristina (Sandra Oh) goes fishing with Derek (Patrick Dempsey) when she was going through a (rather early) midlife crisis. Remember Bartender Cristina? Oh, those were some good times.

Recently, Shonda revealed on WhoSay that she was so inspired when she sent Cristina fishin’ that she keeps a photo from the scene near her at all times. And who could blame her?

“My fave photo of Cristina Yang,” Shonda said along with her post earlier this week. “It sits framed on my desk to help me remember to find inspiration in unexpected places.”

Who could forget how excited Cristina was when she finally caught a fish? And later, when Derek helped her realize she really was special, it was enough to pull her out of her funk altogether. Cristina went through a lot in her time on Grey’s Anatomy, and now she’s the boss at a swanky Switzerland research center. Could we be any prouder?
