Momma Dee Threatens Legal Action Against Son’s Ex, Diamond

Former Crime Mob rapper Diamond’s career may be on an upswing, thanks to the premiere of her new reality show, Sisterhood of Hip Hop, but guys, it appears that she’s still got a bit of trouble to deal with. And it comes in the form of her ex, Lil Scrappy’s mother, Momma Dee.

This past April, Diamond took to the radio waves to discuss her new show, and touched a bit on her past relationship with Scrappy. In addition to saying that their relationship was at times abusive, Diamond also said Momma Dee had quite the sticky fingers and pilfered a couple of pieces of Diamond’s brand name possessions. Though both Momma Dee and Scrappy spoke out against Diamond’s claims, it appears that Momma Dee heard something she didn’t like on last night’s series premiere of Sisterhood of Hip Hop and is now threatening to sue Diamond for it.

“I have never stolen anything in my life,” Momma Dee told Madame Noire. “It is unfortunate that Diamond continues to talk negatively about me in press.”

Momma Dee and her management have also made it clear that they will “use the appropriate channels to handle the defamation of character,” should Diamond continue to speak out about her, said Momma Dee’s publicist, Michelle Banks.

Momma Dee also told Madame Noire that she thinks Diamond is only bringing up the past to get a bit of press, saying, “If she wanted new life for her career to be resuscitated, all she had to do was come to the palace and ask to use my defibrillator. She doesn’t have to lie to become great.” Momma Dee later added, “ When a person attains greatness based on lies the greatness will not last long.”

When Wetpaint Entertainment recently caught up with Diamond, the rapper told us she had no reason to lie, and noted that people actually applauded her willingness to open up.

“A lot of people told me it was time for me to speak out. The streets know, I have people who were living in my house that I’m close with who know what was going on,” she told us, saying “I have no reason to lie. What could I gain from lying about something? How is that going to make me look in a better light?”

Guess Momma Dee doesn’t see it that way.
