It’s hard not to feel helpless when watching the devastation in Oklahoma from afar, so many of you are wondering how you can help. Here are some options for ways to aid those who were in the wake of the tornado:
- The Red Cross is on the ground setting up shelters in the affected communications. To help their efforts, make a donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund. Or visit your nearest branch and give blood. You may also text a $10 donation to the American Red Cross by texting "redcross" to 90999.
- The Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief organization works to "go straight to help those in need providing tree removal services, laundry services and meals to victims of disasters." To donate, visit the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief's website.
- Disaster response units are being mobilized from the Salvation Army, helping to deliver aid and food to those in need. You can donate online via SalvationArmyUSA.org. You can also donate to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
- Animals and livestock are also in need following the disaster. To help care for them, donate to the Central Oklahoma Humane Society or the Humane Society of the United States disaster relief funds.
