There’s a very good reason why we’ve never heard of Prancercise. The awkward instructional video’s host Joanna Rohrback’s enthusiastic explanation of the “springy, rhythmic way of moving forward, similar to a horse’s gait” intrigues us, but our interest ends there. This is a prime example of something that’s so bad it’s awesome.
Joanna gets you hyped for each of the four moves. She starts off with a simple bouncy walk with her ankle weights in place, gradually turning up the volume to the “really hot” trot. Then things gets crazy when she “cuts the noose and lets it loose” with the Prancercise Gallop, and finally winds the workout down with the Shadowbox Prance, “because it’s better to be punching into space than in your face!”
Well put, Joanna.
The Prancercise expert looks fabulous in her while leggings, salmon-colored zip top, and her perfectly-cemented-into-place-with-two-cans-of-hairspray ‘do. Special mention goes to her shoulder pads, hefty jewelry, Keds, and of course her ankle weights.
