We’ve already admitted that we’re huge fans of America’s Got Talent, and little 11-year-old Sebastien De La Cruz, who performed last season and made it all the way to the semifinals, is a true gem. Who knew such a strong, confident, pitch-perfect voice could come spilling out of that small frame?

Sebastien recently came back into the spotlight at the Spurs vs. Heat NBA Finals game, where he sang a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. However, as Jezebel points out, several naysayers took to Twitter to slam the little boy for singing the National Anthem because of his Mexican heritage.

But while some people decided to play the ignorance card, others were thankfully far more supportive of Sebastien. One YouTube commenter said, “This is the definition of being American. Respecting your heritage while respecting your country.” Another laid out the facts, saying, “Rihanna (born in Barbados) sings the national anthem...No one complains. Justin Bieber (born in Canada)sings the national anthem .....No problem. Oh But a Mexican American kid raised in the U.S and that's un-American?”

The truth is that this boy has the voice of a freaking angel, and someone could tell because he was invited back to sing at another NBA game! Way to go, Sebastien!
