Vanessa and Nick Lachey are madly in love with their baby boy, 9-month-old Camden, and are very much enjoying family life. So when Wetpaint Moms caught up with Vanessa at the launch of Procter & Gamble’s Everyday Effect campaign in NYC on Wednesday, we couldn’t help but ask if she’s starting to think about adding to their family of three.
“There’s always plans,” Vanessa revealed. “We’ll see!”
The couple is eager to spend as much time with Camden as they can, despite their busy schedules. The little guy even spent some time on the road with Nick, who kicked off a 98 Degrees joint summer tour with New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men in May.
“Me and Cam were on for the first three weeks of the tour, but now I’m going to be switching off with my sister-in-law and my niece and nephew,” said Vanessa. “We can’t all be on the bus together, we just wouldn’t fit! But it’s really cool that we can make this tour about family. When we started the tour, Cam had no teeth. Now he has four. And Nick was just like, I’m so glad I didn't miss that.”
That’s not the only milestone Vanessa has marked recently: Camden is talking! (Well, sort of!)
“He’s been saying ‘Da Da Da Da,’” said Vanessa. “I tell Nick, I think he’s calling you, let’s just go with that! Nick’s just so happy he hasn’t been missing this stuff.”
The new mom also made sure that dad’s first Father’s Day was one to remember, surprising him with a special day in Manhattan.
“I got him into a car and I took him on a boat cruise around Manhattan and we had lunch on the boat — just me, Nick, and Camden — and it was just awesome. Nick was like, ‘This is one of the best days of my life.’ You know, for Nick and I, this is where we fell in love, in New York City, around seven years ago. So it was amazing that we got to spend Father’s Day here. Nick had a show that night and after that, we got to have a romantic dinner. All in all, it was just a great day for our family.”
It sounds like pretty much every day is a great day for this family!
