Heads up, moms: Baby bath seat makers Idea Baby and BebeLove are recalling thousands of baby bath seats. The companies say they are recalling these products because they may pose a drowning hazard.

The recalled seats are designed for use by children 5 to 10 months old. Both brands are recalling these models because the seats fail to meet federal safety standards, including the requirement for stability. The seats can tip over, posing a drowning risk to babies, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Idea Baby Bath Seats is recalling approximately 34,000 seats that were sold at Buy Buy Baby, Bed Bath & Beyond, and online at Buybuybaby.com between September 2012 and April 2013. Consumers should stop using the seat and return it to the original store for a refund or credit. For more information, call Buy Buy Baby toll-free at (877) 328-9222, or visit www.buybuybaby.com or www.bedbathandbeyond.com, then click on Safety and Recalls at the bottom of the homepage of either site.

BeBeLove is recalling 5,600 of their E-Zee Bath Seats that were sold on Amazon.com and Overstock.com, as well as other online retailers, between May 2011 and November 2012. Consumers should stop using the seat immediately and contact BeBeLove for a full refund; phone toll-free at (888) 464-1218 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time Monday through Friday, or visit www.bebeloveusa.com and click the Recall Contact tab at the top of the page for more information.
