Margaretta Wolf didn’t get to the ripe old age of 96 by making bad decisions.
Last Monday, the brave Wisconsin resident stood up to a thief armed with a knife who was trying to rob her grocery store, and stopped him in his tracks, by offering him candy.
The proud owner of Wolf's Grocery Store in Marshfield for 50 years, Margaretta told WKOW Madison, "I said, 'I'm not opening up that cash register and that's it. 'I'm not opening it.' I said, 'You can have all the Tootsie Rolls you want but I am not opening that cash register."
Okay, so we agree that this decision could have turned out very, very badly. But thankfully, it didn't.
The robber then proceeded to take out a knife and placed it on the counter. But Wolf remained vigilant and stood her ground, telling the robber that she would call the police. At this point, the masked man noticed a security camera, grabbed his knife, and ran out the door.
Police are still searching for the suspect. There is no word on whether he took any of the Tootsie Rolls.
