This is one of the biggest shockers we’ve heard yet when it comes to Kate Middleton and her brand new royal baby boy. Most women appreciate the comfort and support of their mother and sometimes their siblings in the delivery room as they undertake the biggest moment of their lives, but according to NBC News (via Us Weekly), Carole Middleton and Pippa Middleton were not in the delivery room with Kate!

"Buckingham Palace denied rumors that they were going to be in the delivery room with Kate. She very much wants just her husband to be there," NBC News reported on Monday.

Faithful husband William escorted Kate into St. Mary’s Hospital last night when she naturally went into labor, and Clarence House confirmed that Wills was there by her side during the delivery of their son. We had figured that among the doctors and nurses, Kate would want Carole and Pippa there, but whether it was her choice to keep them out or royal tradition demanded it, Kate’s family gave her some space in the delivery room.

The New York Daily News has reported the names of Kate’s team lead and assistant during her birth as Dr. Marcus Setchell and Dr. Alan Farthing. Dr. Setchell is Queen Elizabeth's surgeon-gynecologist and Dr. Farthing has been the surgeon-gynecologist for the royal family since 2008.

Queen Elizabeth will reportedly not make an appearance at the hospital whatsoever, although she was among the first notified of the birth.

Congratulations are in order for new parents Will and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!
