Jenna Dewan-Tatum is already back to work, taping episodes for her new show Witches of East End in Vancouver. The series premieres October 6 on Lifetime.
She and Channing Tatum just welcomed their first child, Everly, on May 31 in London. Jenna talked to Us Weekly about that work/mom balance while promoting her new show. "It's hard," she admitted. "It definitely is a challenge. I'm finding I'm getting more in the flow of things now. It's about switching the brain like, 'OK, now I'm mom, now I'm the actress' and then jumping into character and then coming back and breast feeding."
Jenna said "It's a juggle" but she knows every mom who goes back to work feels the same way. She's no different — except she has Channing to help, and probably a lot more money/resources than the average mom. Just saying!
But, like a lot of moms, she said going back to work has helped her feel "normal" again. "When I was at that point where I was in sweatpants 24 hours a day, if I got a shower every two days I was lucky, and I was just carrying her and breastfeeding and doing nothing but thinking about this little baby, and I'm still doing that, but now I get to go and be creative."
It's all about balance. And showering. Read the full story for more details on Jenna's life as a new mom. Good luck to her!
