Triplet pregnancies aren’t so rare these days, but the story behind the Rickerts’ and the Constantinos’  two sets of triplets provokes one gasp after another.

Terra and Louie Constantino and Danielle and Randy Rickert were both blessed with multiples last week, and in the first twist of this story, both sets were conceived naturally — natural triplets occur only once in every 62,500 births.

Secondly, both sets of triplets are identical, meaning each baby was the product of a single egg, split three ways.

Finally, both sets of parents gave birth to a brood of boys. For Danielle and Randy, these are their first children, but for Terra and Louie, the triplets — Louie, Giovanni, and Rocky — were welcomed by the couples’ three other children, also all boys.

“We were starting to run out of names,” Louie jokes. “With six boys now, everybody always says now they’re going to be on a ball team, but we’re kind of hoping more for a band.”

The babies were all born in the same hospital in Stormont, Kansas, just two days apart. Both families, parents and babies, are happy and healthy, and we wish them all the best!
