What’s better than getting new designer clothes for fall than getting a completely matching outfit for your Barbie doll? Nothing, that’s what.
Global accessories giant Coach has teamed up with toy maker Mattel to create the first ever Coach Barbie Doll, complete with a real leather purse and one of-a-kind accessories. According to the company website, “Mattel and Coach have partnered to outfit the world’s best-dressed doll with iconic New York style. From her red Coach Classic Duffle to her tailored Tattersall Trench.”
Before you can say, “What? That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Yet I want that right now...” wait, there’s more: The Coach Barbie is completely sold out. Yes, you read that correctly.
Coach says that Barbie’s Classic Duffle was created for the pint-size blonde beauty in the same workshop, using the “same supple glove-tanned leather” as their full-sized handbags.
She also has one-of-kind accessories, all inspired from “archival Bonnie Cashin designs.” Her sandals feature gold turnlocks (naturally), the round sunglasses are “custom-colored to match her handbag, skirt, and sandals” (but of course), and her ‘70s glam plaid trench festooned with gold buttons is to die for (we want it).
Too bad others caught on to this collector’s item and snapped all these beauties up before we even knew about it, because despite the $95 price tag, we’d have been all over it. If you feel the same, you can buy one on Ebay right now for a mere $145. Worth it!
Now you tell us: Would you buy one of these for yourself or your kid?
