Giuliana and Bill Rancic’s baby boy Duke, born to the couple via surrogate last year, was surrounded by nearly 90 of the family’s closest friends to celebrate his very first birthday on Sunday, and according to Life & Style, the massive affair was a real blowout.

The family wanted the theme of the Wild Wild West in the comfort of Los Angeles, so they employed a full ranch in Malibu and leaned on a swath of impressive decorations and invitee’s costumes to transport the guests back in time.

It’s no surprise that the Rancics chose this theme for Duke’s first birthday. After all, the little guy does share a name with the best cowboy that ever lived: John Wayne, also known as “The Duke”!

The centerpieces at the three-hour shindig were big ol’ buckets with the letter ‘D’ and a star on the side, filled with lollipops, twisted hard candy, and fun chicken and star figurines. Guests were kept very busy between the petting zoo, pony rides, and face painting.

The 35 kids invited even enjoyed some more modern treats like these glasses of milk and cookies. "Getting realllly excited for #babydukes 1st bday party tomorrow," the caption reads. "My party planner @dessartdesigns is the best! How cute are these milk and cookies for the kids?"

The proud doting parents are still in awe of their baby boy after going through such struggles to have their first child. They had infertility issues in the beginning, and then Giuliana was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. She fought through rounds of chemo and radiation and eventually opted for a double mastectomy. Baby Duke was definitely the light at the end of her long, difficult tunnel, and now that he’s delighted his parents for a year, Giuliana is still in shock.

“It’s crazy, but I can’t believe it,” Giuliana exclusively tells Life & Style. “It’s wild that it’s been a year!”

Wild, indeed, partner! We want to wish Duke a belated first birthday and all our best to the family. We’re hoping baby #2 comes soon!
