First we came across the unbelievable story of a young father who came back to life when his son talked to his dead body (he’d been dead for 45 minutes!) and now there's a new story of a mom who returned home after her family thought they had buried her!
Sharolyn Jackson had been reported missing earlier this year from her West Philadelphia home. Local authorities found a body that matched her description, and two people identified the woman as Sharolyn, including her own son.
"The gold standard here [for identifying a body] is visual identification by a family member," Philadelphia Health Department spokesman James Garrow told The Huffington Post, which is why they had taken the positive ID as fact.
The 50-year-old woman was found alive and in a mental health facility 13 days after her funeral was held.
Of course, the big question now is finding out the real identity of the woman who is buried in Sharolyn’s grave. According to Mr. Garrow via HuffPo, the city's law department is working to exhume the body and coordinate with the police in order to find out the identity of this woman.
