It’s back to school time, and while some parents may shed some tears as their kids board the bus, other are rejoicing. With their new morning free time, some couples may take their time enjoying breakfast or spend a little more time with their significant other after the kids get on the bus, but one mom is attracting serious attention with her back to school happy dance.
Tracy Moutafis, a mother of two, has an annual tradition of busting a move when he kids head off to their first day of school. She carefully selects her songs each year, but they all have a similar theme; In 2011, she danced to “Beat It” by Michael Jackson; in 2012 it was “Celebration” by Kool & the Gang; and this year we watched the merry mom bounce and twist to “Bye Bye Bye” by *NSYNC.
In an interview with WHDH Boston, Tracy said, “[My message is] bye-bye, go to school. Yup, mommy needs her time.”
Tracy said the first two years she danced without music, but these last three years she has been grooving to the tunes. The best part is that her kids love to watch the video when they come home! “They think it’s hilarious,” Tracy said. “They love it.”
Despite some naysayers, most appreciate the sentiment and even relate to it. “Love it,” one commenter said. “As much as I love mine, I did a happy dance every year too! LMAO. Keep it up girlfriend!!!!” “I love it,” said another. “I'm cracking up..great feeling..bye bye kids..lol..”
Did you do a happy dance when your kids left for their first day of school this year or were you sad to see them go?
