"She spoke to some of her best girlfriends after the birth and described the birth of the royal baby as perfect," the source told Vanity Fair. "She said it was straightforward and there were no complications. She wanted a natural birth and she was so happy she was able to have one."
We were happy to hear another source, Middletons' family friend George Brown, explaining how Kate's parents' involvement with their grandchildren was a condition for her marriage to Prince William! We couldn't imagine bringing up conditions to a member of the British royal family, but we think it's lovely that William was apparently so understanding. George says Kate's mother Carole is very good with children, so it must have been a natural choice.
It's interesting to note, however, that Vanity Fair reports just how bothered the royal family must have been when the couple and their new baby boy, prince George Alexander Louis, relocated to Bucklebury just one day after the birth. The cost was high, as was the security detail for the new parents, ut they seemed to think it was a necessary trip to make. It's sweet to know that Carole and her husband, Michael, will also be getting a suite renovated just for them in Kensington Palace so they can be closer to baby George as he grows up.
In addition to a few other birth details, a source told the magazine that a lot of planning went into the lovely dress she chose to wear for her first post-baby photo. "She chose the pale blue spotted Jenny Packham dress that afternoon because her tummy was still very rounded and she decided there was no point trying to hide her bump, so she went for a flattering dress that showed off her curves."
Much to our delight, those curves lasted about a millisecond, as recent pictures of her at the Ring O' Fire Anglesey Coastal Ultra Marathon showed her in a pair of black skinny jeans and wedges, sporting her familiarly thin frame from before baby.
One last quick detail from Vanity Fair's preview: Another source who is a friend of William's said, “He is absolutely loving it and he’s a natural father. He is very relaxed and happy at home with Carole and Michael, whom he gets along with well. He joked that it was nice to have a bit of peace and quiet to get out to play polo. It was very sweet: he said that he wanted George to grow into a polo player and that he would teach his son to ride from a young age.”
Prince George on a horse playing polo! We can't wait!
