Miley Cyrus has been keeping herself at the top of the media food chain recently by causing even more controversy following her vulgar performance with Robin Thicke at the VMAs. This time, the release of the steamy video for her new single Wrecking Ball successfully distracted critics from analyzing the song and instead had them analyzing every curve of her totally naked, 20-year-old body while she clung to piece of construction equipment.

Miley’s father Billy Ray Cyrus spoke out in support of his daughter’s racy VMA performance just a few weeks ago, and (surprise, surprise) he’s at it again. Billy Ray’s initial and totally strange reaction to the video expressed that he apparently considered the nature of his daughter’s nudity and her NSFW antics in the video to be no big deal. It even sounds like the 52-year-old country singer might have even tried it himself!

Billy Ray explained to Entertainment Tonight that, as a musician, the public doesn’t really understand a true artiste like Miley and her complex creative process. He says, “I come from the old school where it starts with an artist and a song... colliding if you will... in a moment where the song, the singer, the producer, the band and the listener become one.” So that’s how “Achy Breaky Heart” came together. We were always curious.

As for her nudity? Billy Ray says, “It wouldn't have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt... a Tux... or a nun's habit. The song's a smash... and her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God given talent." While we might disagree with some of that statement, we do agree with Billy Ray that a nun’s habit on Miley would have indeed been smashing.

One thing we can’t deny is that the video, currently with over 19 million views, is hugely popular. So whether you love Miley or just love to hate her, we’re probably all going to be hearing and seeing a whole lot more of her.
