We wrote recently about actresses Halle Berry and Jennifer Garner testifying to restrict paparazzi photographers from harassing their families and photographing their children. During her testimony, Jennifer memorably became emotional, saying “"I chose a public life … [but] my three children are private citizens."
According to E! News, for this fed-up mom, enough is enough. She decided to give a photographer a taste of his own medicine this weekend, much like hunky hubby Ben Affleck did when he kicked a photographer out of his way to protect daughter Violet a few months back.
Jennifer, age 41, was shopping with all three children--Violet, 7; Seraphina, 4; and Samuel, 17 months--at a farmer’s market near their home when she noticed a pap recording them with his personal video camera. The 41-year-old actress walked up to the photographer and snapped his photo with her own phone, giving him a nice view of himself in her screen.
This photo is definitely an epic win in favor of Senate Bill 606, which, if passed, will redefine harassment as anything that "alarms, annoys, torments, or terrorizes" while photographing or recording minors without parental consent.”
In the meantime, you’ve been warned, paps. Don’t mess with this fierce mama!
What do you think moms, should photographers be allowed to record kids, even if they're the children of stars?
