Ahoy there, ye scurvy lasses!

Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! According to their official website, this fun holiday has been around since 2002, and it’s a great way to celebrate everything pirate. We’ve come up with a couple of ideas ourselves of how moms and kids can have some fun with the day:

Get Free Booty

When you order Krispy Kreme doughnuts in a pirate voice, or dress in full pirate regalia, you’ll be eligible for some free doughnuts. Go to Krispy Kreme’s website for full details.

Perhaps not as exciting to the kids as sugary treats, but definitely in the branding wheelhouse of Long John Silver’s, the fast food chain is offering a free piece of Classic Whitefish for customers who say “ARRRRR” when ordering a meal.

Dress Up

Capturing Magic has this super fun DIY to make hook hands with tin foil and solo cups that looks pretty easy. Your mini Captain Hook will love wearing these long after the “unofficial holiday” is done.

As for the rest of the outfit, your little scallywag will have a blast hanging out in these comfy looking pirate pants that are a cinch to make. Thanks for the tip, Barefoot Seamstress! Can anyone say early Halloween costume?
