Whether you know her by name or not, Jennifer Mee has entered your ear at some point as either Jennifer or “Hiccup Girl.” Back in 2007, Jennifer appeared several time on The Today Show during a five-week stint of non stop hiccups. Now, Jennifer is back in the news in 2013, but she doesn’t have the hiccups again — she has been convicted of murder.
Now 19, Jennifer has moved from The Today Show set to a court room. According to USA Today, the Florida teen was recently sentenced to life in prison without parole after she allegedly lured Shannon Griffin, a 22-year-old Wal-Mart employee, to an abandoned home where she allegedly told him she was interested in buying marijuana. Shannon was robbed at gunpoint and when he struggled, he was shot.
This is really too bad for Jennifer. When last we saw her, she was talking with Ann Curry about how she had finally been cured of her hiccups, she was doing well in school, and she had just been reunited with her biological father. This turn of events is very tragic, indeed.
