Taylor Swift doesn’t have a very good rap when it comes to dating, but on all other accounts, this girl is one of our faves! She always know how to make an entrance, she can actually sing (we’re looking at you, Miley!), and her heart is always in the right place.

Taylor Swift received some eerie news recently of a young girl who had been struck by a vehicle just outside one of her concert venues as the Swiftie and her parents were trying to make it inside for one of Taylor’s tour stops in Chicago. The car that hit the girl had been going 30 mph, the driver was uninsured, and their license was suspended.

Grace Markel, a 7-year-old who is infatuated with Taylor Swift, spent that nightmare of a day at the hospital being treated for two skull fractures, a slight left orbital fracture, multiple head lacerations, a severe concussion, and road rash over her face and body.

To cheer their daughter up, Grace’s parent bought her tickets to one of the concerts on Taylor Swift’s Red tour, but when they got to the venue, they weren’t expecting a meet-and-greet with Taylor herself!

"Taylor greeted Grace by her name and immediately knelt down and hugged her," Grace's mom tells People. "She told Grace she had a cold and asked Grace to sing extra loud to help her out."

The 23-year-old singer also autographed Grace’s shirt with “I heart Grace! Taylor,” and posed for photos with her little fan. Taylor then turned her attention to Grace’s mother, Amy, telling her that she’s sorry for what happened to her daughter and that she sympathized with the family. “It was so surreal and amazing,” Amy said.

The family still struggles to erase the memory of that horrible accident, and Grace continues to attend physical therapy as she works to fully recover. She has since been cleared to return to school, and we hope she wears her Red tee with pride.

It warms our hearts to know that such a huge celeb as Taylor took the time to recognize such a small fan, changing her life in a big way.
