In a story that will warm your heart and squelch those Monday blues, 17-year-old Karrie Brown, who has Down syndrome, just landed her dream modeling gig thanks to her mom’s fortitude.

According to ABC News, Karrie’s mother, Sue Brown, began posting daily photos of her daughter wearing her favorite girls’ fashion label, Wet Seal, on the company’s Facebook page. As Karrie put it, these were outfits that made her “fit in while standing out.” Sidenote: that could/should be the company’s new slogan!

It didn’t take long for the company to take note as, along with Sue’s posts, other people took to social media to tell Wet Seal about Karrie’s love of their clothing.

"She immediately caught our attention," Wet Seal's Yasmin Ezaby told ABC News. "We then asked our fans to get Karrie's Facebook page to 10k likes and we would give her the trip of a lifetime. She exceeded this goal in two days."

As of Saturday, the page had reached nearly double that amount of “likes!”

What happened next will surely give you chills. The company flew Karrie and Sue on an all-expenses paid trip from their home in Collinsville, Illinois, to Los Angeles, California, along with a trip to Disneyland.

The shoot took place on August 30 and, according to Ezaby, it was a huge success.

Saying she was “full of energy,” Ezaby said Karrie “asked for Justin Bieber so she could sing and dance while shooting.” She added, “It was loads of fun. She was a natural in front of the camera."

An added bonus is that Karrie got to see her sister, who lives in Los Angeles.

"She was really excited," Karrie’s mom said. "She was excited about getting her picture taken at Wet Seal and really excited about Disneyland but I think one of the most exciting things for her was getting to see her sister in LA, too.”

Next stop – dancing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show! According to the ABC News article, this is Sue’s next goal for her daughter and, if this story is any indication, we can see Sue making it happen. We can also see Ellen being all over this, and we that hope she is!
