Kate and Jon Gosselin have been in the news a lot lately. The famous mother of eight was interviewed by People recently and spoke frankly about some of her parenting and money struggles, as well as her past regrets. We also found out that Jon’s been living in a cabin in the woods, waiting tables for extra cash.
As “normal” as life has become for these formerly married reality TV stars, it seems just a little bit icky that they’re now also fighting a very public legal battle about who gets to write a family memoir. Kate filed a suit against Jon in August to block him from accessing her email and phone records to publish a tell-all book about their lives. She told Today that she had to block Jon’s version of the family’s story “for the safety and future of their kids.”
For Kate, it seems to matter who exactly is airing the dirty laundry, because she told Memphis Radio 100 in a recent interview that if their kids wanted to write a tell-all book, she’d be "really fine" with it. Appearing on the radio show to promote her new cookbook, Love Is In the Mix, Kate said, “I know everything they would write, you know? If they want to open their lives up someday, I wouldn’t count it out. If they wanted to say it, I say go for it."
Kate clearly thinks she has nothing to hide from her kids but only time will tell. She says, "A lot of the things that you read are not true. Certainly there’s speculation out there, the kids are damaged or whatever — blah blah blah. The truth is I live here, they live here. They’re normal kids. Anyone who comes here, from camera crews or friends that we met here or there, everyone is just blown away (by them). 'Your kids are just regular normal kids.’ I’m like, 'Yeah, what did you expect?’"
We’re not sure what to expect from Kate. She does always keep us guessing, but we have to say that we wouldn't be totally surprised if the enterprising mama is keeping her options open in order to write a tell-all book of her own. You better watch your back, Jon!
