It looks like former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are bound to be grandparents! Their daughter, Chelsea Clinton, just announced that she and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are expecting their first child.
According to The Huffington Post, Chelsea 34-years-old broke the news on April 17 while speaking at the Lower Eastside Girls Club in New York City in part of the Clinton Foundation’s No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project conversation series. We’re jealous of all the attendees who got to hear the good news in person!
“Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year,” she said. “I certainly feel all the better whether it’s a girl or a boy that she or he will grow up in world filled with so many strong female leaders.”
Chelsea tied the knot to Marc back in July 2010, and has been very vocal about her desires to become a mother. Just last year, she told People that she and her husband wanted to make 2014 “The Year of the Baby,” ever since her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Rodham, passed away in 2011.
"We want, God willing, to start a family,” Chelsea revealed. “So we decided to make 2014 the Year of the Baby, and please call my mother and tell her that." We’re sure both of Chelsea’s parents are over the moon!
