Taylor Swift’s Song “22” describes all the joys and sorrow of being young and free. With lyrics like “we’re happy, miserable, confused, and bored at the same time,” Swift seems to be trying to describe the complicated feelings of her generation.
The video, on the other hand, portrays “feeling 22” as a group of girlfriends eating cake out by the pool, wearing cat ears to parties, and doing some really bad “gangsta style” dancing.
It might be the saccharine sweetness of this video that gave the ladies at Fuse the drive to create this hilarious musical parody. In it, they show a much more jaded comparison of what life at looks like ten years later.
With hilarious lyrics about "wrinkles and acne at the same time," reading Fifty Shades of Grey and "kinda liking it!,” and worrying about things like poor investment strategies, these ladies dish out a big dose of reality. Some of the joys of being “32”? Eating cheese in bed, picking up your weekly wine and Xanax shipment, and going to sleep by 8 p.m.
Who are we kidding? It’s our dose of reality too, and we can so relate. In fact, we think it would be fun to keep it going. Why not a video called “42” — Botox and IRAs, anyone?
