You may find it hard to believe, but one bite of these recipes will make you step away from your deep fryer — possibly for good. Many typically fried or deep-fried foods can also be prepared by being baked. And get this, they actually still taste amazing! Here are our favorite formerly fried recipes that taste just as good (or even better!) baked:
Baked French Toast
Cinnamon-y French toast is trés bien, but with all the butter the usual recipes calls for, why not do yourself a fat-busting favor and bake it instead of frying it up in a pan? We promise you won’t know the difference. Try this recipe from The Pioneer Woman.
Baked Unfried Chicken
If you know Chef Art Smith, you know the man has not only cooked for everyone from Oprah to Obama, but he’s also a Southern boy who lives and dies for country cooking. If he’s cool with baking unfried chicken, we’re going to guess it’s pretty finger lickin’ good! Get his recipe here.

We could literally stick our face in a bucket of fries and never come up for air. Since fries are our vice, we’re going for the baked variety, so we don’t have to break out our elastic waistband pants. This recipe from Women’s Health looks amazing!
Baked Chicken Nuggets
We know you may make nuggets for your family more times in one week than you’d ever admit at your Perfect Moms Meeting, but we won’t tell.
