Getting your kiddos into the Halloween spirit can be as simple as pressing play. From old classics that even you’ll want to watch, to newer flicks with tons of visual appeal (and let’s face it, you’ll probably want to watch those, too), we’ve handpicked a few of our faves. Monster House
Who doesn’t love a good haunted house story? This flick is full of spooky (but not too spooky) fun that everyone in the fam will love. (Rating: PG)

Casper
While you may only remember this movie for the moment that Casper turns into a real boy (a.k.a. the moment we all discovered hunky Devon Sawa), your kids will certainly come to remember it for all the zany ghostly antics and special effects. (Rating: PG)

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
This is the classic when it comes to Halloween movies for kids. (We’re guessing you watched it when you were a tyke!) Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin while the rest of the gang goes out for trick or treats. Hilarity ensues. (No rating)

Garfield’s Halloween Adventure
Who doesn’t heart Garfield? Follow the lovably grumpy cat as he attempts to figure out what he’ll dress up as for Halloween. Donning a pirate costume, he and Odie go out for trick or treating and end up getting lost at a haunted house. (No rating)

Coraline
Based on a book, Coraline is a teenager who just moved to an old house and is having a hard time finding interesting things to do. She eventually discovers a portal into an alternate world. We’d recommend this spooky adventure flick for kids 8 and up. (Rating: PG)
