50 Shades of Grey Author Says Next Book Won’t Be as Raunchy
The Fifty Shades of Grey movie cast has been finalized and the sequel to the 2012 New York Times bestseller is underway…but only in our dreams! The New York Post recently caught up with the author of every woman’s guilty-pleasure-in-book-form E.L. James at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party to find out just what’s been going on with the highly anticipated movie and book sequel.
E.L. says while they’re still a long way from casting, she does have some potential “ideas” for which actors could step into Christian and Ana’s shoes, and they may not be who you expect. And unfortunately, that’s all she’s saying on that matter.
The suspense is killing us! We wonder if these pre-production processes really take this long, or has time seemed to move in slow-motion as a result of our overzealous anticipation? Maybe she’s just taking her time and enjoying the attention and popularity that every novelist secretly yearns for?
As for her plans of a sequel, the news is not much different. To entice us, E.L. says the potential sequel “won't nearly be so raunchy, and I will probably write it under another name."
On her website, the acclaimed author drives the dagger of disappointment deeper, admitting that it’s unlikely that Ana and Christian will grace the pages — and our dirty, dirty minds — again anytime soon. "Never say never,” she writes, ”but they're on the back burner at the moment, as I have a few other stories to tell first.”
We can’t take it! Calm your nerves by telling us your perfect cast for the upcoming film below!
