Oh, baby! Identical twin sisters Aimee and Ashlee Nelson of Akron, Ohio ended 2012 in a big way — giving birth just two hours apart on New Year’s Eve.
Donavyn Scott Bratten was born at 12:11 p.m. on Monday to mama Aimee and daddy Matthew Bratten. Donavyn’s cousin Aiden Lee Alan Ditts, son of Aimee’s sister Ashlee and Cody Ditts, came nipping at his heels at 2:03 p.m.
The twins’ mother, Marcella Farson, insists that while she never raised them to do things alike, they often ended up doing just that. Marcella tells the Akron Beacon Journal, “I allowed them to do what they wanted… but the funny part is that nine times out of 10, one would come home with one thing purple and the other one would do the same thing but pink.”
Great minds think alike? With the new mom’s due dates originally a week apart, the same-day births were completely coincidental — as were their parallel pregnancies. “Big surprise,” Aimee tells the Huffington Post. “Didn’t think it was really gonna happen, but it was.”
And just like Aimee and Ashlee, the new moms believe that “our babies are gonna be best friends — hopefully!”
