Even without the mention of her famous mom, the late Anna Nicole Smith, you could probably guess straight away whose daughter this little beauty is. The fair 6-year-old has the smile of her mom and the bright blue gem eyes of her father, Larry Birkhead.

The Mary Poppins-esque pair was the talk of the red carpet at the 139th Kentucky Derby this past weekend. Men traditionally dress in bright suits for the occasion, and Larry looked just the part of a barbershop quartet member in his red orange and yellow striped jacket, matching boater hat, and a blue tie to match his eyes.

Little Dannielynn arrived along with her colorful father in full costume as a perfect Southern belle — including a red and white corseted dress, red shoes with spats, and the traditionally fantastic fashion statement of a hat.

These days, little Dannielynn has lots to smile about. The way she’s staring lovingly at her father tells us a lot about their close relationship, and she’s also following in her late mother’s modeling footsteps, posing for a Guess Kids ad late last year.

As she gets older, Larry knows he’ll eventually have to answer some of Dannielynn’s questions about the passing of her mother, who was found dead from what was ruled a lethal “combined drug intoxication.”  Anna Nicole’s 20-year-old son, Daniel, had died from an alleged prescription overdose just three days after she gave birth to Dannielynn. Larry says he’s already thought about how he’ll approach the tough subject with his daughter.

“I hope that she understands that no one’s perfect and people have triumphs and people have tragedies… And her mom really soldiered on and she came from nothing and you know, lived her dream… But I also want to make things a cautionary tale, and give her the tools that she needs to where she has the opportunities that her mother and Anna’s son, Daniel, won’t have.”
