We are sad to learn that Missing star Ashley Judd and her husband, race car driver Dario Franchitti, are splitting up after more than a decade of marriage. The couple wed back in 2001 in a private ceremony in Scotland, with Ashley’s country music star sister, Wynonna Judd, standing up as her maid of honor.  

Although Ashley and Dario never had children of their own, we’re a little emotional about this split because she has always been such a wonderful public role model, working closely with a number of charities to help make positive changes for women, children, and the unfortunate, globally.

As sad as the split is, we’re happy to hear that it’s extremely amicable. "We have mutually decided to end our marriage,” they said in a statement to People on Tuesday. “We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed.”

Ashley backed up those thoughts in a tweet on Tuesday, writing, “Family forever. @dariofranchitti
