Four words to best describe Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance? The girl KILLED it!
After a concert that included hits like “Baby Boy,” “Crazy in Love” (that we secretly hoped Jay-Z was going to join in on), and a ridiculously cool rendition of “Single Ladies” with a reunion of Destiny’s Child, even grandpa, who was only watching for the game, is now a Beyoncé fan.
But no man was prouder than B’s husband, Jay-Z, who was backstage waiting with open arms as she finished her performance. The couple was captured hugging in an Instagram picture posted by makeup artist Joanna Simkin. She captioned the photo, “Mutual gravity. Hold down and be held down. #The Carters.”
Indeed it was a great night for Mrs. Carter, who not only brought down the house, but also, shut off the electricity. Only moments after her performance, the lights went off in the New Orleans Superdome for a little more than 30 minutes while the players waited on the field.
Okay, so Beyoncé’s performance didn’t actually blow the fuse, or so we think. But considering how her show lit up the Super Bowl, we’re not surprised New Orlean’s electric company needed a little break!
