According to Mashable, 11-year-old Hoboken, New Jersey resident Lucy Walkowiak had a flash of philanthropic brilliance with an idea that could both raise money for hurricane relief and help her hard-hit community: a pop-up Internet cafe and charging station.

With the help of her father, Steve Walkowiak, she set up power strips and Internet access in her front yard so that her power-less neighbors could access the web and get their cell phones fully charged. All she asks for in return are Red Cross donations. Her dad says, “Lucy does a lot of community service through her school, so this is on par with what she’s been learning.”
