Like cooking? Have a dark side? So do we. And have we got the cookbook for you.
Cultural critic and rabid foodie Frank DeCaro compiled The Dead Celebrity Cookbook: Christmas in Tinseltown, over 100 recipes from celebrities who’ve left this mortal coil, immortalized only by their fame — and of course, some signature holiday goodies. Sound morbidly fascinating and delicious? Here’s a recipe straight from the cookbook for you to try out!
John Lennon was all about peace, and what’s more peace-making than sharing a mug of hot cocoa made from scratch? Whether you’re warming up little hands that have been playing outside or gathering with loved ones just because — imagine how delicious this hot cocoa would be! (See what we did there?)
John Lennon’s Hot Cocoa
1 ½ tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons sugar
A few grains of salt
2 cups boiling water
2 cups scalded milk
Mix the cocoa, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Dilute with ½ cup of the boiling water and stir to make a smooth paste. Add the remaining water and boil for 1 minute. Add this to the scalded milk and beat the mixture with an electric mixer for 2 minutes on medium speed. Pour the cocoa into mugs and serve.
